Transmissions
Explaining the most complicated part on your car and tips on how to
avoid problems and boost performance.

Since the
invention of the automatic transmission, they have just become more and
more technical and complicated. Your transmission can have over 1,000
different parts
in it::gearbox, shaft, hydraulics, valves, gearsets, flywheel,
bearings, and other components.
You may have noticed that more and more of today's cars are equipped
with new tiptronic transmissions. These are transmissions that allows
the driver to override the automatic system. With complicated machinery
like this, you must be sure your transmission is in good working
condition.
To be sure of
this, here are some tips that will aid you in maintaining
your new or rebuilt transmission:
Check transmission fluid regularly
Check
your fluids at least twice a year. But, each car is different. So
see your owner's manual for details.
Have your transmission fluid flushed and
changed
Again,
each car is different. Refer to owner's manual for factory
recommendations on what type of fluid and how often it should be
change. A general rule is, the more load you put on your transmission,
the more it's going to need to be changed. Most manufacturers recommend
30,000 miles for automatic transmissions. So, if you use your vehicle
for towing, uphill driving, or heavy stop and go situations then you'll
probably need your transmission fluids flushed and changed. Come in to
AllStar Servicenters and we'll take care of all your preventative
maintenance needs for your transmission, and clutch too.
Have
problems diagnosed quickly
Once
you notice you transmission is having issues you need to get it
diagnosed by a professional quickly. The sooner you get it fixed, the
less likely you'll pay a lot of money. With over 1,000 parts in your
transmission, the longer you wait, the more damage your transmission
will face. AllStar Servicenters can diagnose your transmission and
